シセンレッサーパンダとは、レッサーパンダの一種もしくは亜種である。
形状[編集]
ニシレッサーパンダと比べ、顔の毛が赤っぽく、尾の縞模様がはっきりする。

分類[編集]
シセンレッサーパンダは、イギリスの動物学者であるオールドフィールド・トーマスにより新種記載された。
2020年の研究によれば、遺伝子解析の結果から、別種とするのが適正とされた[1]。
然し、2025年のDueckによる研究では、ミトコンドリアDNAコントロール境域の塩基配列より2集団を亜種と見なした[2]。
飼育[編集]
日本で飼われているレッサーパンダの殆どがシセンレッサーパンダである。
