アユモドキ属（アユモドキぞく）とは、アユモドキ科の属である。
分布[編集]
ほとんどの種が中国固有種であるが、アユモドキは日本固有種で、P. dubiusはベトナム、マンシュウアユモドキはアムール川流域産である。

なお、命名規則では、-botia で終わる他の属はすべて女性名詞とみなされるにもかかわらず、この属は男性名詞と見なされている。 詳細はKottelat（2012）を参照されたい[1]。
名称[編集]
アユモドキは、Leptobotia属とされ、それに標準和名「アユモドキ属」が適応されていた。2000年代にアユモドキがParabotia属へ再分類され、2013年にアユモドキ属に適用されていた学名が変更となった。学名から「パラボティア」とも呼ばれる。
学名はParabotiaは、「ボディアに似たもの」という意味で、Para（偽）とbotia（ボディア）の合成語である。
