Macroclemys apalachicolae(マクロクレミス・アパラキコラエ)とは、ワニガメの一種である。
形状[編集]
臀甲板の縁にある突起は狭く、三角形または幅の狭いU字形。
生態[編集]
分類[編集]
かつては、ワニガメ (M. temminckii)に含まれていたが、2014年に行われたトーマスらの研究でスワニー川のもの一緒に別種扱いされ、記載された[1]。
だがしかし、翌15年にブライアン・フォルトとクレイグ・ガイヤーは、「M. apalachicolaeはワニガメに含まれる」とする論文を発表した[2]。Freshwater Turtle Specialist Groupとthe Committee On Standard English And Scientific Namesもこれに従って同種扱いしている。
