形状[編集]
本目固有の形質は存在しないとされる[1]。
分類[編集]
以前はスズキ目 Perciformes の1亜目（ニザダイ亜目）と見なされていた。
Near & Thacker（2024）はフグ目 Tetraodontiformes およびアンコウ目 Lophiiformes をニザダイ目の亜目とすることを提唱した[1]。Eschmeyer's Catalog of FishesはNear & Thacker（2024）に従わず、フグ目およびアンコウ目を有効としている[2]。
